Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Snappy.
What is Snappy?
Snappy is a free-to-play fantasy sports app with ranked 1v1 matchmaking. You draft real players from live MLB and NBA games, score in real time, and climb through 8 ELO divisions from Bronze to Legend. Think of it as competitive fantasy sports — one match, one opponent, one winner.
Is Snappy free?
Yes, completely. No entry fees, no deposits, no rake, no in-app purchases required to play. Snappy is and will always be free to play.
What sports does Snappy support?
Snappy currently supports MLB (Major League Baseball) and NBA (National Basketball Association). More sports are planned — the platform is built to expand.
How does matchmaking work?
Snappy uses ELO-based ranked matchmaking, similar to chess or competitive video games. When you hit Battle, you're paired with an opponent at a similar rating. If no human opponent is found within 90 seconds, you'll play against a bot at your skill level.
How does scoring work?
Scoring happens in real time based on live game stats. For NBA: points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, and personal fouls all factor into the fantasy score. For MLB: plate appearance outcomes (hits, walks, strikeouts, home runs) plus cumulative stats like RBI, runs, and stolen bases determine your total.
What are the divisions?
Snappy has 8 ranked divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Legend. You start with 6 placement games that determine your initial division, then climb or fall based on match results. Each win or loss adjusts your ELO rating.
How does the draft work?
Each match uses a snake draft. You and your opponent take turns picking 3 real players from that day's live games. You have 20 seconds per pick. You can filter by game and position. The players you draft score fantasy points based on their real-life performance during the actual game.
Is there an app?
Yes, Snappy is an iOS app currently in beta. Sign up for early access at snappyfantasy.com to get an invite. An Android version is planned for the future.
How do I sign up?
Enter your email at the top or bottom of this page to join the waitlist. We're inviting people into the beta in waves. Once invited, you'll receive an email with instructions to set up your account and download the app via TestFlight.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Snappy has a friends system where you can add friends and challenge them to private matches directly. Private matches are separate from the ranked queue — your rating isn't affected.
What happens if my opponent disconnects?
If your opponent leaves or disconnects during a match, the match continues. Their drafted roster keeps scoring automatically based on real game stats. You still earn or lose rating based on the final result.
Is Snappy gambling?
No. Snappy is not gambling. There are no entry fees, no real money stakes, and no payouts. It's a competitive skill-based game — like playing ranked matches in a video game, except your score comes from real sports.
When is the full launch?
Snappy is currently in beta with MLB as the primary sport. We're expanding access gradually and adding features every week. Sign up for the waitlist to get in as early as possible.
